Supper in Charlottetown
O'Brien's Social Bar & Kitchen is downstairs and carries the name of Joe O'Brien, a Hall of Fame horseman from PEI. It serves from 11 am to 8 pm Sunday through Wednesday. From Thursday through Saturday the kitchen stays open until 10 pm. Red's does Italian-style comfort food in front of a 14-foot screen. Its hours run from 4 pm to 10 pm Sunday through Wednesday, then 11 am to midnight Thursday through Saturday.
Top of the Park looks down over the Driving Park from three tiers. People know it for its Sunday brunch and for the buffet on race nights. Red Shores posts no hours for it, so a quick call before you plan the evening around it makes sense. The Trackside Patio is an outdoor spot right next to the racing, and it has no posted hours either. Both sit in the same Charlottetown hall as O'Brien's and Red's.
The grill in Summerside
The West End Bar & Grill is the kitchen at Red Shores at Summerside, a casual sit-down bar and restaurant with full service. It is open from 11 am to 8 pm every day of the week. The VLT floor runs until 11 pm Sunday through Thursday, so on those nights the kitchen closes three hours before the floor does. On Friday and Saturday the floor stays open until 1 am. Booking a table
Table bookings at the Charlottetown restaurants are taken by phone only, at 902-620-4264, and there is no online booking. Across the two buildings there are four places to eat. A Rewards Club card also gives money off at the restaurants, and it is issued only at the Rewards Club Desk inside the Charlottetown casino. Holiday hours are not posted for either hall, so check before a holiday with the main number: 902-620-4222 in Charlottetown or 902-888-5666 in Summerside.
